DHRPK in fulfilling its aims have been participating in different seminars and meetings nationally and internationally. There have been numerous conferences, walks and countless protests organized by DHRPK and during the course there have been press releases as well so as to inform the citizens of Pakistan about the enforced disappearances.


Apart from attending seminars, DHR officials have met President of Pakistan, Prime Minister of Pakistan and wrote letters to remind them about the problems. Even the other higher authorities such as Interior Minister of Pakistan, Minister of Law, Minister of Human Rights, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, DG ISI etc have been informed and send appeals too through posts but to no avail.


In the international scenario as well DHR has been very active and has been in touch with  EU commission delegation , UK house of lords and house of commons , Cage Prisoners , Human Rights Watch ,Amnesty International, H.R. Lawyers in UK and US, Swedish Embassy, Parliamentarians and human rights desk officers  of Norway, Sweden, Switzerland , UK and Germany. Even Imam-e-Kaaba was approached and told about the agonies of missing persons and their families. The international media was also involved in this and UN conventions in Geneva were also briefed about this.

Breaking news !!

 

A Press Conference was held today 23rd of May 4 pm , in the National Press club Islamabad, regarding the new cases of abduction taking place.In recent days as many as 6 / 7 cases have been reported to DHR,
as law of the jungle prevails in the country. Amina Masood Janjua made a special appeal to the Chief Justice of Pakistan ,that Heavens have fallen on the aggrieved families of Missing Persons,  kindly take
Suo-motto notice and grant  us Justice we deserve as Honorable Citizens of Pakistan.

 

Hunger strike camp by the families of missing persons from 27th may,2010 on Bank Road Sadar Rawalpindi.

 

 

Traders Union of Rawalpindi has assured  full support for the cause of missing persons.
