DHR Seminar in Karachi

In a seminar arranged by Defence of Human Rights Karachi chapter, Pakistan’s former chief justice Mr. Justice (r) Saeed-uz-Zaman siddiqui said, “Mansoor Alam Commission report regarding missing person should be published and its recommendations should be acted upton. All government departments are bound to obey constitution. Supreme court should order for the release of all missing persons.”  The seminar was held on 7th Feb 2012 in open auditorium of National council of arts about human rights conditions in Pakistan. Mr Justice ® Rasheed A. Rizvi, Dr Fawzia Siddiqui, Amina Masood Janjua, Amir Jamaat-i-Islami Karachi Mr Mehammad Hussain Mehanti, Nehal Hashmi advocate of PMLn and Mr Altaf Shakoor of Pasbaan adressed.  Mr. Justice (r) Saeed-uz-Zaman siddiqui further said, “Constitution protects every citizen and no one can be kept in detention for more twenty four hours without court orders. As chief justice of Pakistan I had written an order in the case of Shahid Abbasi that Supreme Court can summon all departments including army and Supreme Court can order for the release of any person detained by agencies. All the persons who are have detained or killed Pakistani citizens should be prosecuted”.
