3rd Dec 2011: The Civil Society Ladies of Attock City organized a grand seminar on Missing Person’s dilemma on 3rd Dec. 2011 Saturday, from 3 pm to 6 pm. Amina Masood Janjua was invited as the main speaker and resource person. The graceful event started with Tilawat e Quran, its translation and tafseer by Naila Ayub the host of the Seminar. The verses of Sura tul Balad were especially selected to throw light on the freedom of prisoners and slaves. Introduction on the issue and the struggle being led by Amina Masood Janjua was highlighted by Binte Islam.
As Amina spoke of her pain, grief, heartbreaks and courageous endeavors of 6 and a half years old struggle to find her husband and all the Missing Persons , all the congregation was found to be overwhelmed with emotion.Tears rolled down from the eyes of each woman who was there in the hall to share the grief of detained and disappeared loved-ones.
A short documentary was also screened for developing awareness of the issue. Another representation of the victim family was a testimony by Mother of Mohammad Jameel – a 29 year old gentleman who was abducted in broad day light from Rawalpindi. The highly charged and enthusiastic event ended with a heart felt prayer by the most senior member in the seminar for the safe return of all the illegally detained loved-ones.
The event concluded upon a note of thanks and a strong will by all the participants to be part of this cause in every possible way.
