Defence of Human rights staged an unlimited camp-in in D-chowk in front of parliament house Islamabad on 1stNovember 2011. Aggrieved families from all over the country joined this camp. Old and young and kids alike bore the cold of Islamabad night under open sky for their loved ones. The families of victims of enforced disappearance intended to stay in this camp until government take some solid action to redress this problem. They were ready to spend eid holiday in the camp but very next day chairman of commission of inquiry of enforced disappearance Justice (r) Javaid Iqbal visitedthe camp. He showed deep sympathy with aggrieved families and gave an assurance that he will come up with concrete solution of the problem of enforced disappearance within two weeks after Eid.We were deeply honored and thankful to Justice (r) Javiad Iqbal for his concern and also for his assurance of two weeks. On his promise and insistence we wound up the camp. We are ready to wait for even one month instead of two weeks so that Justice (r) Javaid Iqbal has ample time for his mission. If God forbid there is no development even after this time, we will be compelled to once again start our unlimited camp.
It is to be noted that, on 17th November 2011, hearing of case of Masood Janjua and Faisal Faraz started once again in commission of inquiry.
